One of the great advantages to living in downtown Orlando is the plethora of local food establishments.  Two of our local restaurants are under new ownership.   Thomasino’s formally Lil’Anthony’s among other names, is once again owned and operated by John and Liz.  So glad to see them back in the neighborhood and the pizza is awesome!  They have also totally remodeled the restaurant and it is a huge improvement.  Also, Shine on Neighborhood Kitchen is now owned by Curt and Maxine.  We have been there a couple of times and the food is a big improvement.  Curt has updated the wine list with many reasonable priced options available and it is obvious he knows his grapes!  Be sure to check them both out.

My absolute favorite frame shop is celebrating their 25th birthday!  Flamingo Framing on Virginia 407-894-0484 and they are offering 25% off framing of $100 or more through Sept. 7th.  Happy-Happy!!! Stop by and let them know I sent you!

I was out shopping for accessories for a client this weekend and stopped by our local West Elm store and was impressed with their store merchandising.  Very nicely done and they showcase a number of fall design trends.  See what you can bring into your home to update your look.

This ottoman is covered in a traditional dhurrie.  The thick cotton rugs create a wonderful graphic pattern.  Also orange is still a popular accent color but I am noticing red accent items too.

Love the combination of gray, red, orange and lime green for this table setting.  The stripped balled napkin ring used to hold the silverware adds a wonderful whimsical accent.

Second look at the tablescape.

Lots of silver, glittering accents.  Furniture has a variety of finishes especially like this weathered gray finish on this table.

Parsons desk with antiqued, metal clad finish – note the nail heads around the edge.

From Crate and Barrel purple is a strong color this fall.

Gray continues as a strong trend as well as dark walls (love it!) and animal accent pieces are turning up everywhere.  These “animal heads” just make me smile!

Natural elements real or imitation such as this horned magnifier are prevalent.

Simple pillows with creative accents such as these rows of buttons update your sofa.
