Celebrate Around Town.
This last weekend I spent some time relaxing (much needed) and being wined and dined to celebrate my birthday. Had some truly exceptional meals and experiences! So here are some recommendations from my b-day weekend, enjoy!

Had an exceptional dinner at Maxine’s on Shine. Love their new menu and our evening was topped off with a bottle of champagne and eloquent toast from Curt (and Maxine).
Lunch the next day was at Prato on Park Ave in Winter Park. Not the same personalized service we received at Maxine’s but a truly enjoyable meal none the less. The décor there is very well done, with a living plant wall, lots of brick and comfortable seating. And the food was delish!
To top off my weekend, my hubby bought me a very unique pair of earrings from a gallery in Winter Park, Tresor. They have an eclectic collection of art and lots of great jewelry. And rumor has it, that the owner will be bringing in some purses from NYC. Can’t wait to see those!
So when you are ready to celebrate your special day I hope you will support your local vendors. We are very fortunate to have such a great selection of quality places to choose from.
One of the great advantages to living in downtown Orlando is the plethora of local food establishments. Two of our local restaurants are under new ownership. Thomasino’s formally Lil’Anthony’s among other names, is once again owned and operated by John and Liz. So glad to see them back in the neighborhood and the pizza is awesome! They have also totally remodeled the restaurant and it is a huge improvement. Also, Shine on Neighborhood Kitchen is now owned by Curt and Maxine. We have been there a couple of times and the food is a big improvement. Curt has updated the wine list with many reasonable priced options available and it is obvious he knows his grapes! Be sure to check them both out.
My absolute favorite frame shop is celebrating their 25th birthday! Flamingo Framing on Virginia 407-894-0484 and they are offering 25% off framing of $100 or more through Sept. 7th. Happy-Happy!!! Stop by and let them know I sent you!
