We recently returned from a relaxing trip to Greenport, NY. As I mentioned in my Wednesday’s blog post there is plenty of interesting architecture to enjoy in this seaside town. But now I want to share some of the other treasures to be found here. Being a seaside town there are several extensive marinas’. Unfortunately the weather was a little inclement while we were there so we weren’t able to go out on the water. I was really looking forward to taking the tour! But I did see lots of beautiful vessels.
Love the garden for this charming shop.
Enjoyed D’Latte so much we came back twice!
Had an enjoyable, tasty dinner our first night in town at Noah’s. Exceptional and interesting food with a great wine list. Clean but well thought out interior added to the experience.
Didn’t have a chance to make it in here but loved the name, butta’cakes and the sign “keep calm and eat cupcakes”!
We also had the opportunity to visit several art galleries’. My favorite was the Siren Song Gallery (www.sirensongallery.com). Proprietor and artist Deborah Freedman operates the gallery and studio. Her talented work is featured in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The New York Public Library, Rutgers University, The Department of State and the Library of Congress. I thoroughly enjoyed her work but I think my husband was more interested in her cat, Pepe!
One thing I would recommend is that if you want to visit a northern resort area after Labor Day plan your vacation later in the week. Many of the restaurants and shops we wanted to visit were closed for the start of the week.
Let us know where your travel treasures are!
