When a client used to ask me to select wallpaper for them I used to groan inside.  Wallpaper was tired and dated.  Well times have changed, and I am more likely to suggest using wallpaper to a client then they are to ask. One of my favorite ways to use wallpaper is the ceiling.  The ceiling is often a neglected surface and looks great with wallpaper.

I have also used wallpaper for art.  For a favorite, contemporary client we took a black two-toned fleur-de-lei inspired paper and framed a large piece with a silver, baroque type frame.  Awesome!

This is a great option if you are not willing to commit to permanent wallpaper or if you are a renter.

Another great resource is http://www.grahambrown.com/us/index. They are an innovative firm from the UK with a variety of talented designers that contribute to their line.

So don’t be afraid.  Wallpaper is a great resource to add interest to a space.  It can create an inviting style statement to your entryway, a jewel box feel for your powder bath or a romantic retreat for your master bedroom.
